The long history of Trump crying “foul" and alleging fraud over his election losses goes back to the 2016 Iowa caucuses, when he accused Ted Cruz of fraud, and his loss of the 2016 popular vote to Hillary Clinton, when he set up a short-lived election-fraud commission to investigate, writes Thomas Coon of Parma in a letter to the editor.

Ted Cruz, Trump claimed he lost because of fraud by Cruz.Trump also claimed that he lost the state of New Hampshire because thousands of voters were bused in from Massachusetts to vote for Hillary Clinton.Before we even voted in this year’s presidential election, President Trump claimed that if he lost, it would be because the election was rigged.When Trump lost the popular presidential vote to Hillary Clinton, he claimed it was because millions of people voted illegally for Clinton.

In 2016, when Donald Trump lost the Iowa presidential caucus vote to Texas Sen.Republicans in the state called such an allegation absurd and without merit.
