Given the connection between anti-vaccine beliefs and preventable infectious disease outbreaks, we must examine the cognitive processes that lead to the development of vaccine hesitancy.Another fascinating bias playing a role in vaccine hesitancy is the omission bias.What this means is that vaccine hesitancy will lessen in time as more and more people are vaccinated.Subsequently, some people who choose not to get vaccinated may depend on confirmation bias to validate their decision.

Confirmation bias is our propensity to focus on information that supports our already existing beliefs.From time to time, we all fall victim to confirmation bias.
