Business Lifestyle Politics Society Sports Home » Politics The International energy forum goes to Sofia instead of Plovdiv Submitted on Saturday, 21 March 2009 No Comment Sofia overtakes the organization of the International energy forum, which had to take place in Plovdiv between April 22nd – 24th.The lack of a proper hotel base, infrastructure near the airport and other difficulties made it necessary to move the forum to Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia.The mayor was officially informed by the head of president’s cabinet general Nikola Kolev.The mayor said that the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov went to Plovdiv and along with the mayor personally checked the conditions for guests of highest rank.
It turned out that only two hotels are meeting the requirements for the arrival of important figures.The reasons not to pick Plovdiv this time around is the lack of enough luxurious hotels and president apartments.
