Roberto Basso Rail Trail bike ban wrong Years ago, back when the old CP Rail line had just been decommissioned and the ties removed, we decided to go on a family bike ride.I ride The Rail Trail on a non-electric bike on a weekly basis and continue to see electric bikers riding along, the same smile and look of glee on their faces as they pedal up and down the lakes!These bikes have been around for years and have already been used on the rail trail.My in-laws were visiting and my mother-in law (in her 60s) was nervous about the outing so we decided to go down to the local bike rental shop and rent electric bikes to make the trip a little easier on them.

I realized a long time ago that electric bikes opened up the world to people who were previously unable to ride a bike, perhaps due to age, an illness, or even a lack of fitness.These banned electric bikes are not new products, nor untested technology.
