Underground rapper MF DOOM, part of the 90s New York trio KMD who gained later fame with his masked persona and side projects with Danger Mouse and Ghostface Killah, has died.

Legendary New York rapper MF DOOM, part of the ’90s trio KMD who gained later fame with his masked persona, fluid lyrics and side projects with Danger Mouse and Ghostface Killah, has died.Rapper MF DOOM performs at a benefit concert for the Rhino Foundation at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield on June 28, 2005 in New York City.After the tragedy, Dumile seemed to disappear from the New York hip hop scene for several years until he reemerged as MF DOOM in 1998.Wearing a metal mask resembling the Marvel supervillain Doctor Doom, Dumile released his debut solo album “Operation: Doomsday” in 1999 and went on to create Danger Doom with Danger Mouse and Doomstarks with Ghostface Killah.

His wife, Jasmine, announced his passing in a social media post that said Dumile died Oct.The popular, up-and-coming group disbanded in 1993 after his brother, known by the name DJ Subroc, died in a traffic accident.
