Protecting Pets in Freezing Cold Temperatures - Erie News Now
The ANNA Shelter shares tips for pet owners about taking pets outside in freezing temperatures. They say to take dogs outside to go to the bathroom and then bring them right back inside.

Ruth Thompson said it should be bathroom break and then right back inside.“Imagine standing barefoot outside for thirty minutes,” Thompson said.“We would rather check it out,” Thompson said.With these temperatures below freezing the ANNA Shelter is reminding pet owners not to leave animals outside for long periods of time.

” In Pennsylvania, a dog can be legally chained outside for 30 minutes in freezing temperatures but Thompson says it’s not the best practice.Thompson from the ANNA Shelter said it's even a good idea to put a sweater or blanket around the dogs when you take them outside in freezing temperatures.
