We know the Farm Laborers Fair Labor Practices Act like the back of farm workers’ calloused hands. We pushed for it for 20 years, and it was signed by Gov. Cuomo in our presence on July 17, 2019. It created a new section of labor law, §674-a, requiring a Farm Laborers Wage Board to determine by Dec. 31, 2020, if the far too high 60 hour-per-week threshold for overtime pay should be lowered.
