News PennDOT Reduces Speed Limit on I-90 to 45 mph in Erie County Saturday, January 8th 2022, 11:36 PM EST Updated: Saturday, January 8th 2022, 11:40 PM EST PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit to 45 mph on Interstate 90 in Erie County from the Ohio state line to the New York state line due to the winter weather conditions.RELATED:  PennDOT Imposes Vehicle Restrictions, Reduces Speed Limit on Interstate 79On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions must move to the right lane.PennDOT crews have been treating roadways, and the department’s goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow.

Workers will continue to treat roadways until the precipitation stops and roads are clear.Drivers are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel.
