One man killed in four-alarm Yonkers fire on New Year’s Day
The 4:50 a.m. blaze claimed a middle-aged man inside the Bruce Ave. building near Lawrence St. and left other tenants scrambling for safety in the darkness as firefighters and cops arrived on the scene, Yonkers police said.

Video posted on Citizen shows flames on the upper floor shooting through the night as a pair of firetrucks extend their ladders to the building roof.The cause of the blaze remained under investigation and the identity of the victim was not released.
