Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fans (United States CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION) King of Fans announced the recall last week after receiving 47 separate reports of detached blades on some of its Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor fans.“If consumers observe blade movement or uneven gaps between the blades and fan body or movement of the clip during inspection, consumers should immediately contact King of Fans for a free replacement ceiling fan,” the commission said.King of Fans said “an isolated manufacturing defect” caused the blades to detach.xml:space="preserve"> xml:space="preserve"> A Florida company recalled more than 190,000 ceiling fans because the fans’ blades can detach while spinning.
While not all of the company’s ceiling fans were recalled, the U.Consumer Product Safety Commission said costumers who had purchased the affected units should “immediately stop” using them.
