The family of a Black man fatally shot by police in southern California filed a wrongful death lawsuit Thursday against Orange County.Reinhold, who was homeless at the time, was walking in the middle of a street when he was stopped by Eduardo Duran and Jonathan Israel, two officers with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department who were part of a homeless task force, the Los Angeles Times reported.The lawsuit says Orange County’s homeless detail unfairly targeted people of color and that officers received insufficient deescalation training, the Times reported.(Mindy Schauer/AP) The Orange County district attorney’s office is investigating the shooting, and the sheriff’s department also launched an internal investigation.
