Electric car UK: Lack of charging stations blamed by many for not switching

THOUSANDS of drivers could be avoiding electric cars purely through fears their battery will go flat when driving, according to experts at USwitch.

This now brings the total number of charging points in the capital to almost 6,000 including 500 rapid charging points.Chris Burghardt, MD at Chargepoint has warned the UK Government needs to continue to implement policies to encourage the adoption of further charging points.They said Greater London accounts for over 25 percent of all charging points in the IK followed by 13 percent in the South East and 12 percent in Scotland.Mr Burghardt added: “London has made a significant step in the right direction, by reaching its 2020 target for electric vehicle charging points, installing an additional 300 chargers.
