Dad charged with daughter’s murder more than 16 years after assaulting her as a toddler
A father who caused a traumatic brain injury to his toddler daughter, allegedly severely impacting her quality of life, has been charged with her murder more than a decade later.

WA Police said the man seriously assaulted his then two-year-old daughter Teagan Jade Ferguson on March 12, 2005, causing her grievous bodily harm.“The assault caused the victim to sustain a traumatic brain injury and develop numerous chronic health conditions, which directly impacted on her quality of life,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.“It will be alleged that the injuries received during the assault eventually led to her death,” police said.A father who caused a traumatic brain injury to his toddler daughter, allegedly severely impacting her quality of life, has been charged with her murder more than a decade later.

The 40-year-old Carnarvon man has been charged with murder and will face Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 19.Ms Ferguson was in palliative care from 2015 and died aged 18 in Perth Children’s Hospital on June 1 last year.
