The National Covid-19 Coordinator Dr Agnes Mahomva said the wearing of masks is still important in Zimbabwe although neighbouring countries have been scrapping the prevention measure. In an interview yesterday, Dr Mahomva said the country was not in a hurry to relax any of the Covid-19 measures just because others are doing so.The fact on the ground is we are not yet safe hence I urge members of the public to wear their masks properly, practise hand hygiene and social distancing,” said Dr Mahomva. This trend of declining cases, Dr Mahomva said, confirms that the pandemic remains under control.

“Winter is still not yet over and our statistics show that although cases have declined, we are still recording new cases hence we cannot relax.“We will only make decisions that make good science sense and at the moment our new cases are still high and we are not even in a hurry to relax any of the measures that have helped contain the deadly disease.
