Find out what's happening in your area: Once you’ve walked around the lake, head out onto the main road and up Wentloog Road where you need to keep a look out for a small gap in the hedge on your right with a metal gate.If you continue along the seawall, a path will eventually lead you back to Wentloog Road where you can follow the road into the village of Peterstone Wentloog, before turning back and retracing your steps to your starting point.But, it’s at exactly this spot where you can find Parc Tredelerch (also known as Lamby Lake) and take a stroll down a towpath towards the Wales Coastal Path.Read more: The best one-day walks in Wales that are ideal for a mini hiking adventure The best place to start your walk is by parking at Parc Tredelerch (Postcode: CF3 2HP) where there’s a small car park and you can have a stroll around the lake.

This will take you onto a towpath which runs alongside a watercourse leading down to the Wales Coastal Path.You’ll be able to walk along the banks of the Severn Estuary towards Newport and see unspoilt countryside packed with wildlife.
